From the Fells to Ferrari: The Official Biography of Cliff Allison tells the story of one of Britain’s most quietly significant racing drivers of the 1950s and early 1960s.

Written by Graham Gauld and published by Veloce, this hardback biography follows Cliff Allison from his early racing days in a Cooper 500 through to his place in Lotus and Ferrari history. Allison and Graham Hill drove in the first Grand Prix race for Colin Chapman’s Lotus team in 1958, with Allison going on to score Lotus’s first World Championship points.

The book also covers Allison’s later Ferrari career, including his time with the Ferrari Grand Prix team in 1959 and 1960, plus his sports car success, including the Argentine 1000 km race with Phil Hill and winning the Index of Performance at Le Mans in 1957 in a 750cc Lotus Eleven-Climax.

A worthwhile addition to any Lotus, Ferrari, Formula 1 or classic motorsport library.
