CLUB LOTUS DISCLAIMER

Last updated: 12/05/2026

Club Lotus Ltd (“Club Lotus”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales (Company No. 05212328, VAT No. GB 844 117 342), with its registered office at Signpost House, Ambassador Way, Greens Road, Dereham, Norfolk NR20 3TL. This disclaimer governs your use of www.clublotus.co.uk and any associated sub-domains, member areas, forums, archives and online services (the “Website”).

By accessing or using the Website you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted this disclaimer together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not accept these, please do not use the Website.

1. Accuracy of information

Club Lotus is committed to keeping the Website accurate and up to date. If you encounter information that you believe to be incorrect, out of date or incomplete, we would be grateful if you could let us know. Please describe what you have read and where it appears on the Website, and send your message to info@clublotus.co.uk. We will review it as soon as we reasonably can.

While we take care over the content we publish, we make no warranty that information on the Website is complete, accurate, current or fit for any particular purpose, and the Website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

2. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Club Lotus accepts no liability for any loss or damage — whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential — arising from:

  • inaccuracies, errors or omissions in the content of the Website;
  • reliance placed on any information, advice, opinion or material published on the Website or in member discussions, forums or comments;
  • temporary interruptions, delays, transmission errors or other disruptions inherent to the dissemination of information over the internet;
  • the use, or inability to use, the Website or any of its services.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits Club Lotus’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.

3. Technical, valuation and ownership content

Club Lotus is an enthusiast members’ club. Articles, forum posts, area newsletters, magazine archives, valuations commentary and technical guidance published on the Website are provided for general information and member interest only. They are not professional advice and must not be relied upon as a substitute for inspection, advice or assessment by a suitably qualified engineer, restorer, surveyor, solicitor, financial adviser or other professional.

Any technical procedure, modification, restoration method or driving technique described on the Website is undertaken entirely at your own risk. Always refer to the relevant factory workshop manual and consult a qualified specialist before carrying out work on your vehicle.

Where Club Lotus offers a formal service — for example a Digital Authenticity & Valuations certificate — that service is provided under its own separate terms and not under this general disclaimer.

4. Privacy and data protection

Personal data you provide to Club Lotus through the Website, member services or any web form is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

When using our web forms we aim to keep mandatory fields to the minimum necessary to fulfil your request. For all privacy-related matters — including subject access requests, rectification, erasure, objection, complaints and any other data protection enquiry — please contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo@clublotus.co.uk.

Responses and requests submitted by email or web form are treated in the same way as written correspondence. We aim to respond within one calendar month of receipt. Where a request is particularly complex, we may extend this period by up to two further months and will let you know within the first month if this is the case.

5. Website security

Club Lotus takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the Website and its underlying systems against unlawful use, taking into account the state of the art, the costs of implementation and the nature of the data processed. No internet-based service can ever be guaranteed to be entirely secure, however, and Club Lotus accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss suffered by a user as a result of the unlawful acts of third parties affecting our systems or those of our service providers.

If you become aware of a security vulnerability affecting the Website, please report it responsibly to security@clublotus.co.uk and allow us a reasonable period to investigate before disclosing it publicly.

6. Third-party websites and services

The Website contains hyperlinks to websites, products and services operated by third parties — including sponsors, partner organisations, manufacturers, marketplaces and member-recommended specialists. These links are provided for convenience only. Club Lotus has no control over the content, availability, accuracy, quality or commercial practices of third-party sites and accepts no responsibility for them. Any goods or services obtained from a third party are subject to that party’s own terms and conditions, and you should review them carefully before engaging.

7. Member-generated content

Parts of the Website — including forums, comments, classified advertisements, area pages, the marketplace and member submissions to Club Lotus News — allow members and other users to publish their own content. Such content represents the views of the individual contributor and not those of Club Lotus, its officers or its committee. Club Lotus does not pre-moderate every contribution and accepts no liability for the content of any member-generated material.

If you encounter content that you believe is unlawful, defamatory, infringes intellectual property rights or otherwise breaches our Acceptable Use rules, please report it to info@clublotus.co.uk so that we can review and, where appropriate, remove it.

8. Intellectual property

All editorial content, design, code, photography, illustrations, audio and other material on the Website are, unless otherwise indicated, the property of Club Lotus Ltd or used under licence, and are protected by copyright, database right and other intellectual property laws.

You may view, download and print pages from the Website for your own personal, non-commercial use only. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, broadcast, transmit, modify or distribute any part of the Website without the prior written permission of Club Lotus Ltd, save as permitted by mandatory provisions of law (including the right to quote for the purposes of criticism, review or reporting current events under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988).
