Jochen Rindt: Uncrowned King of Formula 1 by David Tremayne is a detailed biography of one of Grand Prix racing’s most compelling and naturally gifted drivers.
Rindt rose to prominence in Formula 2, won the 1965 Le Mans 24 Hours with Masten Gregory in a Ferrari 250 LM, and entered Formula 1 with Cooper before moving through Brabham to Team Lotus. At Lotus he reached the peak of his career in 1970, delivering a sequence of performances that placed him at the head of the World Championship before his fatal accident at Monza. No rival was able to overhaul his points total, making him Formula 1’s only posthumous World Champion.
This paperback Evro edition was revived for the 50th anniversary of Rindt’s death and includes a foreword by Sir Jackie Stewart. It is a strong addition to any Lotus, Team Lotus, Formula 1 or classic motorsport collection.
