Lotus 72: 1970-75 by Pete Lyons is a substantial hardback study of one of the most important Formula 1 cars in Team Lotus history.

Introduced in 1970, the wedge-shaped Lotus 72 raced for six seasons and became one of Colin Chapman’s most successful Grand Prix designs. During its World Championship career it won 20 Grands Prix, helped secure two Drivers’ Championships for Jochen Rindt in 1970 and Emerson Fittipaldi in 1972, and contributed to three Constructors’ Championships for Lotus in 1970, 1972 and 1973.

Pete Lyons, who reported on Formula 1 for Autosport during part of the Lotus 72 era, follows the car’s race-by-race career with detailed commentary and a large selection of period photography. The book covers the early red, white and gold Gold Leaf years as well as the famous black and gold John Player Special period.

This is a strong title for Lotus, Team Lotus, Formula 1 and historic motorsport collectors, specially anyone interested in Colin Chapman, Jochen Rindt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Ronnie Peterson and the 1970s Grand Prix era.
