LOTUS DAY AT THE GREAT BRITISH CAR JOURNEY 15TH JUNE
We’ve been invited to a special Lotus Day on June 15th at the Great British Car Journey interactive museum in Derbyshire. Billed as a ‘celebration of the genius of Colin Chapman’ it’s open to all Lotus and Lotus inspired cars. Amongst the many exhibits in the museum you’ll find a Lotus Seven which spent a decade pre-registration as a hillclimb car, a Turbo Esprit and a LHD Elite which was Mario Andretti's 'company car'.
CLUB LOTUS OFFICE CLOSURE ON FRIDAYS
From June 1st the Club Lotus office will be closed on Fridays, although the answerphone will still be on. Our new office hours will be from 09.00 to 17.00 Monday to Thursday, when AnneMarie, Jane and Alan will be available to assist members and Lotus enthusiasts with all membership renewals and enquiries, club shop orders and general help and information.
LOTUS HONOURS LEGENDARY RACING DRIVER JIM CLARK WITH EXCLUSIVE EMIRA CLARK EDITION
Lotus has honoured one of the greatest drivers of all time with the Emira Clark Edition, in collaboration with the Jim Clark Trust. This exclusive model is limited to just 60 cars for selected markets, so if you want one you’d better be quick.
The car celebrates the legacy of Jim Clark and Team Lotus on the 60th anniversary of their most successful season. In 1965 Jim secured the Formula 1 World Championship and won the iconic Indianapolis 500 — a remarkable double victory that remains unmatched to this day. That same year, Clark further demonstrated his extraordinary talent with championship victories in Formula 2 and the Tasman Series in Australia and New Zealand, as well as winning touring car races in a Lotus Cortina.
The car is based on the Emira V6 and is finished in British Racing Green with a contrasting black roof, silver mirrors and the iconic Team Lotus yellow racing stripe. Every Emira Clark Edition will have numbered carbon fibre treadplates (1 of 60) adding to the exclusive feel of this very limited edition. Each customer will also receive a bespoke hand-crafted leather holdall with unique Clark Edition details. With features such as a drivers’ seat and steering wheel trimmed in red, wooden gear knob and a Jim Clark signature on the dashboard it promises to be a true collector’s car.
The price will be £115,000 in the UK and €140,000 in Europe.
